We live in interesting times!

I want to make it clear from the start that I’m not promising anything, but there’s every hope that J.P. Priestly might just come up with another article. It goes without saying that his (I’m at liberty to reveal that he”s male.) style and the content of his writing have created a lot of interest among the readers of this blog — not to mention some lively criticism!

For those of us who are students of onomatology his very name creates a degree of fascination and no doubt he’s informed by his classical background that onomastics comes from the Greek onomastikos, but these academic points aside, what attracts, I think, is his red-blooded approach to life — he cuts to the chase as it were — with his perceptive insights into Australian politics and the humbug of much contemporary thinking.

Please J.P.P. give us another piece, for we do live in interesting times!

The article and the comment on it suggest to the uninitiated that these are more shots or, perhaps, the first shots in an uncivil war. Thinking as we, uninitiated, are at present, of Syria, mass shootings in Norway and Colorado, USA, and other conflicts, we can only keep a nervous silence and hope for peace.

Antony, I’m pleased to be able to say that the protagonists in this small, but not Machiavellian discourse, are in complete harmony — all seekers of intellectual purity with no hint of one-upmanship! I’m now communicating with J.P.Priestly and he knows that his reading public, both the admiring and not admiring ones, are anxious for another article from him. At present peace reigns supreme, but I can’t guarantee what will happen after we get J.P.P.’s next piece, but no worries! David
